Young Gloucestershire’s drop-in centre for young people will be in Stroud every Friday 11-4pm offering advice to young people.
2 July 2017
The Link is Young Gloucestershire’s drop-in centre for young people to get advice, support and training for all matters effecting their lives and ultimately their ability to live independently. The centre is based in Gloucester City Centre but new funding has enabled us to take the service on the road. Megan, The Link’s drug and alcohol specialist, tells us where they are headed.
We have packed The Link up into our mobile van – the van is a great resource that gives us both a space to meet with groups of young people and the opportunity to take the services out and about around the county.
Currently we are visiting Stroud on a Fridays 11-4, you can find us opposite Ark House. Young people can jump abord and meet youth workers who will be able to offer help and advice around all kinds of issues from housing and job searching to substance misuse, sexual health, and food bank vouchers. We also have free wifi, tea, coffee and biscuits so young people are welcome to just pop along and say hi.
Even if it’s raining the bus is warm and snug and we have laptops and a host of information and are happy to support you with whatever you need.
This is a new project for YG so we want to spread the word so as many young people can benefit from the service as possible. If it does become popular, we hope to be able to roll the provision out to other areas in the county.
