The family company, has pledged to raise funds all year for a number of local charities as it marks its 50th anniversary.

Young Gloucestershire – A charity helping the county’s young people has benefited to the tune of more than £1,000 thanks to the determined teamwork of runners from a Gloucester insurance brokers.

The four employees from independent Cass-Stephens Insurances ran the 26-mile Gloucester Marathon in relay – raising the funds for Young Gloucestershire.

The family company, which specialises in business and personal insurance, has pledged to raise funds all year for a number of local charities as it marks its 50th anniversary.

These include James Hopkins Trust, Young Carers and the aforementioned Young Gloucestershire, which offers support and guidance to disadvantaged young people in Gloucestershire.

The £1,000 raised at the marathon will provide an out-of-work young person with up to a year’s support from a trained business mentor to help them into work or training.

The company’s marathon runners were Cass-Stephens’ commercial account executive Natalie Berry, managing director James Cass, brother and director of Parksure Matt Cass and commercial account executive Andrew Long.

James said: “It was hard work running in the Gloucester Marathon but we were delighted to be supporting an organisation that does such fantastic work for young people in Gloucestershire.”

“The marathon had a great atmosphere and it was good fun. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us with their kind donations.”

He added: “As a company we believe it is very important to give something back to the community and especially as we celebrate our 50th anniversary and look forward to an exciting future as our business continues to grow.”

Cass-Stephens was founded by the late Mike Cass in 1966 and today the firm is owned and managed by his two sons James and Matt Cass with their fellow director Paul Baldwin.

The business describes itself as ‘growing significantly’ in turnover and customers over the last few years through recruitment and acquisition.

Parksure provides insurance policies for mobile home or holiday lodge owners.
